UA x Coached MasterClass @ Singapore Marathon REPC

 

 

In conjunction with Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2017, Under Armour will be partnering with Coached to hold a series of MasterClasses at the SCSM Race Entry Pack Collection Expo from 30 November to 2 December!
Get to learn from a series of experts (bio included below) on topics such as nutrition and race day tips, whether you are gunning for your personal best at this year's Singapore Marathon, or even aiming to complete your first marathon in the near future!
Please note that all sessions are open to public, and will be STANDING ONLY.
 

SESSION SCHEDULE 

Session 1 - 30 November 2017 12:00pm-12:30pm
Topic: Race day tactics to maximise your fitness and your race result, regardless of your fitness level (By Ben Pulham)
You will learn:

  • What race execution is and why it’s so important
  • Discover different pacing strategies and when to use them
  • Strategies for dealing with pain and discomfort

 
Session 2 - 30 November 2017 7:00pm-7:30pm
Topic: The spine; optimal bio-mechanical performance - getting the best out of your body (By Steven Holmes)
You will learn:

  • The importance of good brain/body communication; how it could improve your running and help you to rehabilitate injuries

 
Session 3 - 1 December 2017 1:00pm-1:30pm 
Topic: Race day tactics to maximise your fitness and your race result, regardless of your fitness level (By Ben Pulham)
You will learn:

  • What race execution is and why it’s so important
  • Discover different pacing strategies and when to use them

Session 4 - 1 December 2017 8:00pm-8:30pm 
Topic: Your Body Is All Set, But Is Your MIND Ready To Race? (By David Chung)
You will learn:

  • How to prep your mind to cope with pre-race excitement, anticipation or anxiety
  • How to  relax, stay focused, and get mentally ready for a good race

 
Session 5 - 2 December 2017 11:00am-11:30am 
Topic: Eat better, run faster (By Sonia Osborne)
You will learn:

  • The goals of nutrition
  • Learn what vital nutrients you need in your diet for training and racing
  • Why you should be eating fewer carbs and more fat
  • Practical examples that you can apply

STAGE (Standard Chartered area) and UNDER ARMOUR ZONE (Green zone) are located after the MARKETING ZONE (Gray zone).

 

 SPEAKERS

Ben Pulham

Ben Pulham is the founder of Coached, a heart rate training programme that helps you optimise, track and enjoy your training.
A former elite triathlete who has represented New Zealand at Triathlon World Championships, World Cups and in the Olympic Trials, Ben is a sought-after endurance coach who has worked with thousands of athletes and many global brands including Under Armour, P&G, Apple, Standard Chartered, Facebook, Cisco and BMW.
 

Steven Holmes


Dr Steven Holmes is a certified Chiropractor (NZ) of Back to Life Pte Ltd, with more than 3 years of experience under his belt.
 

David Chung


David takes care of his runner's mind by practicing mindfulness in the Plum Village tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh. When he's not running, David works as the Singapore Country Director and Senior Trainer of Potential Project to bring mindfulness to the workplace.
 

Sonia Osborne


Sonia Osborne is a long-standing international nutrition coach and educator who works with individuals and corporations to improve their physical, mental and emotional health.
