Lactate Test

If you want to improve your running, the lactate test is for you.
The ability to efficiently clear lactate is a fundamental requirement for success in endurance sports — the more work you can do before reaching your lactate threshold, the better. 
If the pace you can hold at your lactate threshold is higher than your competitor can hold at his or her lactate threshold, you go faster, reach the finish first, and win. 
The lactate test measures the accumulation of blood lactate at increasing intensities and is used to establish your lactate threshold, and set training zones to help you improve your performance.
While your main rivals are burning energy fast, running at their limits, you can stay right with them and rely primarily on your aerobic system. 
This saves valuable energy for hard efforts later, like the run leg of a triathlon, a long climb, or a sprint to the finish line.

Precision Hydration Sweat Test

If you want to eliminate cramps, the sweat test is for you.
Sweat Testing takes about 40 minutes, and all you have to do is sit comfortably, while we talk to you about how you train and compete. The test is simple, painless, and extremely accurate. 
Being (and staying) well hydrated is crucial for performing at your potential and avoiding cramps. The amount of sweat /sodium you lose can vary up to 15 times between seemingly similar individuals.
This means that a 'one-size-fits-all', off the shelf approach, doesn't work when it comes to hydration. In partnership with Precision Hydration, we offer advanced sweat testing, personalised hydration planning and a mix of products that meet your individual needs.
This Advanced sweat test gives you an accurate reading of the amount of sodium (the vital electrolyte lost in sweat) you lose every time you exercise. This is genetically determined and changes little throughout your lifetime, so one test is enough.
 We combine the reading with the context you give us during the test to create a hydration strategy just for you. We'll advise you on when, what and how much to drink before, during and after training and competitions so that you're well equipped to achieve your goals.
We'll recommend what strength electrolyte drinks will work best for you in each scenario too. Precision Hydration developed these multi-strength electrolyte tablets because the off-shelf products out there don't do the job for most people. 
The most potent product, PH 1500 has up to 3.5 times more electrolytes than other brands you might have used before.

Ben Pulham is the head coach and founder of Coached. For years, Ben earned a living as a professional triathlete, representing New Zealand at Triathlon World Championships, World Cups and in the Olympic Trials. Having spent years training and racing at a high level, Ben brings a unique skill set to his role as a coach. His athletic experience combined with a love for coaching and technology, continue to fuel all at Coached.
